I’m excited you want to get started with understanding what I do on Upwork which allows me to live an amazing lifestyle, travel the world, and work with amazing companies and clients.

It’s funny because I’m not sure if these companies would have employed me 10 years ago for a full time job.

I’m not even sure if they’d hire me NOW for a full time job!

Hopefully by the time you read this you’ll agree with me that this is better.
(And more lucrative)

The reality is, most companies are using more and more freelancers to help them with their businesses.

Especially in the online business realm, which, in reality, includes almost all businesses, with the exception of dentists and hospitals.

And even those industries have a lot of integrations with the online universe because of leads and booking appointments.

In fact, many of my clients have been in the healthcare field.

Using freelancers is MUCH more affordable, and it allows companies to take on many more risks by being able to build multiple projects simultaneously and manage a huge amount of people with very little overhead.

On the flip side of the coin, freelancers (us) now have the unique ability to work virtually from anywhere in the world, for extremely legit companies, ranging from solo shops to major corporations.

One thing all these THIRSTY businesses have in common is that they’re all on Upwork and they’re posting jobs daily.

And the best thing about Upwork is that you can use it anywhere in the world and still make an amazing living.

I just returned from a 2-month road trip in Italy and I was able to stay in touch with all of my clients.

All I had to do was click on two buttons and I was able to work on any project I wanted to and get compensated in real-time, at amazing rates, for consulting work, copywriting, and strategizing.

Pretty amazing — this allows me to juggle multiple clients and not have to worry about confusing billing hours.

All of my time that I devoted towards working is compensated.

And that makes me happy!

That being said,  think about THIS for a second…

You wake up in the morning, with hopefully no alarm clock, and you leisurely go to your  computer after having your favorite flavor of coffee or returning from a workout.

Maybe you just hung out with your kids before school.

It really doesn’t matter.

After that, you simply click on the client you want to work with, and voila, you start working on your agreed hourly rate, and money automatically gets sent to your account for as long as you want to work that day.

Upwork is a legitimate publicly traded company that is the biggest marketplace for online talent.

This means that you never have to worry about them making payments. M

oney can either get sent to your bank account, PayPal, or even by check.

When you take hourly contracts all the money is insured and you NEVER have to worry about anything shady like the client bailing.

In fact, there’s no need to ever bill clients or ask them for money.

It’s all done for you automatically when you use Upwork’s time tracker.

 What Upwork has been able to achieve for me is amazing…

I probably wouldn’t be freelancing if Upwork didn’t make this so easy.

Requesting money is one of the most horrible things in the world for someone that’s trying to run their own business and with Upwork it’s not necessary.

At any point, you can take a break, take a walk, or visit something cool, and come back to the work at your discretion.

  • No commute.

  • No bosses.

  • Work as much as you want.

  • Charge whatever you want.

  • Don’t work when you don’t want to work.

  • Grow your skills

Living the life you want

Want to go to a nice dinner?


Want to travel to a cool spot?


Want to pay off debt?


Want to learn a new lucrative skill?


Simple concept, right?

To me, that’s independence…

If you have these two things there’s literally no reason why you can’t make a ton of money from Upwork.
1.  Power or batteries for your laptop.

2. Internet so you can log into use the time tracker.

At the end of the day, there’s really only two things you truly need…

Some people have issues with Upwork…

And they’re right….

There’s definitely some issues with relying on Upwork..

The problem is, and a lot of people will be quick to point this out, there are some severe limitations with relying on a marketplace like Upwork to be your primary source of income.

Here’s a few complaints I’ve heard about Upwork:



There are hundreds of thousands of active freelancers vying for the same jobs. Most of them are outsourced help so they’re competing at a low rate.


Low Budgets:

A lot of the jobs have pretty low budgets that definitely won’t be able to pay rent. It’s tough to get excited about a $30-$40 gig, especially if it’s sporadic.


Lack of Experience:

Some jobs seem overwhelming and you lack the ability to prove that you’ve done what the client needs. This can be intimidating.


It’s Expensive:

Upwork collects up to 20% of the money you make from clients. This can be a big buzz kill.  Especially if you’re not making much per hour.

Most frighteningly, If you look at a lot of people on Upwork, you’ll quickly discover that many people don’t earn that much.

But the truth is…Most people give up.

I can’t tell you how many people I’ve spoken to in the past that told me that they tried Upwork but thought it sucked because they didn’t start crushing it right off the bat.

It takes hard work.

It’s not Upwork’s fault they failed.

It’s their own fault because they weren’t adequately able to sell their services at a rate and amount that made them happy.

Maybe their services were bad?

Maybe they didn’t know how to find jobs?

The job availability certaintly isn’t the issue. 

Just one glance at the job feed shoots that idea down quickly.

There are so many jobs coming down the pipe it’s insane. There’s more than a pipe, actually.

There’s a river of jobs flooding through Upwork every day.

The people posting these jobs are all people that are ready to hire someone right away for their business or personal goals.

Let’s go back to the “river” analogy…

The idea shouldn’t be to just dip your toes in the river and see if you catch a fish by accident.

The idea should be to figure out how to build a net along the river so that you’re constantly catching fish.

Not only should you be figuring out how to catch the fish, but you should be learning how to properly cook and fillet the fish so that other fish wish they’d been cooked by you vs. your competition.

Ok enough with the fish analogy.

But honestly, this should apply regardless of the type of freelancer you are on Upwork. Not just funnel consulting.

It takes a system that is sustainable with your life and your goals.

Luckily I have figured out the system for this line of work.

And between you and I, there’s more than enough work to go around so I’m happy you’re learning this.

After all, I owe Upwork a lot and want to spread the message as much as possible.

As you can probably tell from the title, Upwork has been a life changing discovery that I stumbled on only 3 short years ago after failing in several endeavors ranging from restaurants to iPhone apps.

That’s right…. Restaurants. Not even 5 years ago, I was grilling gyros topped with Tzatziki sauce and hummus at a restaurant I owned called the Pita Pit. This was fun for a while, but to be honest, the responsibility of 60+ employees mixed with crazy expenses left me broken in the heart and wallet. It was sad having to close the doors on a chapter of my life.

It was even harder to see my employees heartbroken and in need of finding another job. As you know, in this market, finding new jobs is easier said than done. 

Especially when you only have sandwich making as a skillset. Even as an owner, I think we were only making like 15/hour because we were working so many long hours. When you factor in the debt, it probably turned out to be even less 🙁 Thankfully, I had a friend take my hand and teach me a ton of online marketing techniques, which resonated well with my knowledge of marketing. And it turned into a career beyond anything I could have imagined.

And it all started with a landing page.

One of the most valuable lessons my friend taught me early on was understanding the way online marketing worked and why it could be applicable to any service or product in the world.

And when I wrapped my head around it, that these stores online could be selling products 365 days a year / 24 hours a day / 7 days a week, it really blew my mind.

This wasn’t like how our restaurant operated at all, which was the limited amount of people on the sidewalk every day.

Even if we were on the most popular sidewalk in NYC, in the middle of Time Square, people would eventually go to bed, and sidewalks only have so many people.

Not on the internet.

Unlike in the past, when I owned my restaurant, I thought the only time you could build a relationship with a customer was when they were ordering food. Maybe a promotional email every now and then.

Again, not on the internet.

On the internet, you have time to form this type of relationship because you can keep in touch with them in a million different ways.

I call it “Internet Stuff”

This consists of…

  • Emails
  • Webpages
  • Facebook Pages
  • Apps
  • Twitter Accounts
  • LinkedIn Accounts
  • Texting Accounts
  • The list goes on and on…

And it grows every day.

And one of the key ingredients of getting in front of the right people is creating a relationship.

On the internet, items are routinely sold at 3am to people all over the world by people that fall in love with a product or service.

I remember seeing his sales alerts coming through his email, one after another, only seconds apart, saying that someone was paying $45 for the premium workout videos he recently recorded 

I thought “Holy shit! — I’m in the wrong business”

And that was really just the start. I started learning a ton and working with his businesses which allowed me to get introduced to a lot of other businesses and people that needed my help.

I quickly learned how necessary, and just how big, this industry is for selling in this day and age. 

These online marketing and internet marketing techniques are happening so often and so frequently that you’ve probably become averse when you see these things play out. It’s happening all around you whenever you visit ANY webpage.

After all, if you’re reading this it’s probably not by accident. Most likely it’s by design.

I targeted you because I’m hoping that I can get you to understand the story of me and my company so we can develop a relationship with you.

Creepy, right?

But that’s marketing. You want to get in front of the people that are most likely to buy your product or you’re going to be wasting a ton of money.

All this “Internet Stuff” needs to be organized and done for people all across the business spectrum in all four corners of the world.

And Optimized!

These things all need to work together in order for businesses to be sold, and that’s why they hire me.

If you think about it…

  • 20 Years ago all business needed webpages.

  • 10 years ago they needed social media.

  • 5 years ago they needed apps.

    …and now all businesses need AUTOMATION.

That’s truly where I found my niche on Upwork and it’s quite clear when you see some of the awesome clients and results I’ve had in the past 3 years.

So what is Automation?

Basically, automation is the ability for businesses to continuously sell goods or services without much new input.


That doesn’t mean there’s no work after it’s made. Quite the contrary.  In the online marketing world, we’re going to want to keep optimizing online businesses so we can scale the business and make many more sales.


Being able to do this for clients allows them to justify spending money on me because they know the money will come back to them.

This is called a return on investment.

If an investment is returned, the client will keep hiring you, and you’ll literally be able to bill them at your discretion because they’ll want to hire you for as many hours as you want to work.


That means at any point of the day, you can just turn your laptop on and start earning through your computer.


I want to get you to this point, but as I mentioned, there’s a system for keeping the clients coming and being able to charge a rate that makes you want to work.
